How to Travel to Taino Woods Sanctuary
Public Transportation Options
If you don’t have a car, don’t worry! You can still reach Taino Woods Sanctuary using public transportation or by finding a carpool. Here are your options:
1. Carpooling
- Post on our newsfeed under Taino Social to find available carpool options. Our community often coordinates rides to make the journey more accessible.
2. Short Line Bus from NYC to Monticello, NY
- Take the Short Line Bus from New York City to Monticello, NY.
- From Monticello, take a taxi to Harris, NY.
- For ticket fares and schedules, visit CoachUSA: https://www.coachusa.com/shortline
- On Saturdays, the first bus usually departs at 9:30 AM, and the last bus back to the city is at 6:30 PM.
3. Metro-North Train to Beacon, NY
- Take the Metro-North train to Beacon Station.
- From Beacon, you can take an Uber or taxi to Harris, NY. This option is most cost-effective with a group of 3-4 people.
- For train schedules, visit MTA Schedules: https://new.mta.info/schedules
- Trains start as early as 6:50 AM and run until midnight.
