Introduction
At Taino Woods Sanctuary, we foster personal healing, growth, and fulfillment in an inclusive community. Our Code of Conduct ensures fairness, safety, and dignity for all. Together, we create a supportive, harmonious, and empowering environment where open communication, respect, and shared growth flourish.
Respect
Participants are expected to treat others with kindness and respect, honoring diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and opinions. Special consideration must be given to elders and those who serve the community. Collaboration, honesty, ethics, and professionalism are essential to maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment.
Note: Taino Woods Sanctuary advises caution when pursuing romantic or sexual relationships between members. The organization is not liable or responsible for the effects of such relationships.
Communication
Participants must use appropriate language and avoid offensive, aggressive, or discriminatory behavior. Open, honest, and respectful communication is expected at all times.
Note: Unless explicitly stated on the official Taino Woods Sanctuary website, the organization does not endorse any individual or organization’s missions, products, or services, including those posted within community spaces.
Accountability and Conflict Resolution
Participants are responsible for their actions and decisions. Conflicts are expected to be addressed in a constructive and respectful manner, seeking understanding, common ground, and community support when appropriate. When conflict resolution is facilitated within the community, Taino Woods Sanctuary upholds traditional protocols, which may include the use of the talking stick, the purification lodge, and/or the kachimba / chanupa pipe, as guided by elders or designated facilitators.
Technology Use and Confidentiality
Technology and social media must be used responsibly and ethically. Cyberbullying, harassment, and the sharing of confidential or sensitive information without permission are prohibited.
Note: While participants should not independently share photos or videos outside of official channels, Taino Woods Sanctuary retains the right to document and share media captured on the land for cultural preservation and educational purposes.
Ceremonial Practices
Participants must respect ceremonial spaces, follow protocols, and observe guidance from ceremony leaders. Disruptive behavior, unauthorized device use, or bringing substances that may interfere with ceremony are prohibited.
Land Stewardship
Participants must show reverence for the land, wildlife, and natural resources. Waste should be properly disposed of, tools respected, and the land left better than it was found.
Photography, Video, and Cultural Documentation Agreement
By entering and participating in activities at Taino Woods Sanctuary, participants acknowledge and agree that photographs, audio recordings, and video recordings taken on the land may be used by Taino Woods Sanctuary for the purposes of preserving history, culture, ritual, education, and community memory.
All such media are considered part of the living cultural and historical record of Taino Woods Sanctuary and may be shared through official channels, including but not limited to the website, social media platforms, educational materials, and archives. No compensation is owed for such use. This consent is perpetual and non-exclusive.
Ownership & License of Uploaded Media
By uploading, posting, or submitting any photographs, videos, audio recordings, written materials, artwork, or other media to the Taino Woods Sanctuary website, community platform, or affiliated digital spaces, participants acknowledge and agree that such content becomes part of the official archive and cultural record of Taino Woods Sanctuary.
Participants grant Taino Woods Sanctuary a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, display, archive, adapt, modify, and distribute such media for purposes aligned with the Sanctuary’s mission, including but not limited to cultural preservation, historical documentation, education, community communication, and ceremonial recordkeeping.
This license remains in effect even if a participant’s account is later removed or participation is terminated. Participants affirm that they have the legal right to share any content they upload and that such content does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
